Vasco Nuñez de Balboa first saw the South Sea in 1513. He started his journey of discovery on September 1, 1513, and dipped his feet in the water of the Pacific Ocean on Saint Michael’s Day, September 29, 1513. That is why we are using a running conquistador on the logo of InterAmericas Hash 2013, to celebrate the event that took place 500 years ago.
We will drink some beers by the ocean and remember that small group of men that dared so much. We will have it easy, and it will be fun!
